The permissions in this system are really fucked up....

The Old Republic: Caidh (Sorcerer) & Cairdean (Sniper)
Rift: (Rogue) & Cairdean (Mage)
World of Warcraft: Caidh (Warlock) & Caorann (Druid) - World of Warcraft - Argent Dawn (retired)
Dark Age of Camelot: Caidh (Eldritch) & Caorann (Druid) & Caraid (Hero) - Percival (long retired)

Hopefully it'll be worth it.  I was on while Caidh was and I was able to play with the options a little bit.  You can adjust the volume for each user if they are quiet or too loud.  YEAH!!! The other thing I found cool so far is you can set a priority to someone.  I can only assume this would be great for setting to a raid leader or something of the sorts so they don't get talked over.  Also I noticed that just because you setup a push to talk in the wizard doesn't mean it will be active when you log onto the server.  Options/capture/push-to-talk   From a user standpoint I like it so far.  Just so long as we don't cause Caidh to lose all his hair for the permissions setup.

Do not let one bad moment spoil a bunch of good ones

I hopped on, no one on.

Wasn't sure if my push-to-talk was working.  In the test it worked, but then on the server I wasn't sure.

I don't want to make it seem that the permissions are unworkable.  They're in some ways overly complex but I think we can do everything we need to with it.  The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to protect a channel (i.e. officers channel) without giving it a password that everyone has to remember.  I'll get to it though.

I can't even figure out how to get it installed. I downloaded the beta client in the downloads section of the ts website but the application I downloaded keeps bringing up a dos prompt. I'm sure its something simple that I'm doing wrong but I'm not good with computers.

Neither is Ventrillo, but I *still* don't have that installed on my gaming machine.  I will get to it when I tire of rocking out*.

I had no problems installing it with XP once Ryan pointed out how to do it.
